CAN TV Schedule During the Democratic National Convention in Chicago

We have been busy preparing for the Democratic National Convention, which will be held in Chicago from August 19th to 24th. The convention is a fantastic opportunity for CAN TV to produce compelling hyperlocal live programming, as well as a challenge while we adjust to the change in our normal schedule. As you know, there will be all sorts of disruptions in the city, including traffic, security, and delays, and we want you to be prepared.

Here is the schedule for CAN TV in the days leading up to, during, and shortly after the convention:

Friday, August 16
Producers may check out portable equipment this day and keep it with no additional charge until Tuesday, August 27

The morning slot at 11 am will be the final studio available to producers until Wednesday, August 28

Engineering will be in the studio from 2 pm to 7 pm to prepare the studio for the upcoming week

Saturday, August 17 – Monday, August 26
CAN TV will be closed to the public.

Monday, August 19  – Friday, August 23
In the morning, CAN TV staff, partnering with four community producers, will produce live episodes of Democracy Now! to cover the Democratic National Convention

In the evening, CAN TV will produce live versions of our original show Chicago Politics, for expanded coverage of the Convention
