Tune in to a local, rock’n holiday tradition this New Year’s Eve on CAN TV.  JBTV’s 27th annual #SafeDrive Live Music Marathon gives you 10 hours of musical performances from the best alternative and indie rock bands along with backstage interviews about being responsible on the roads.

“We fill a need to marry music with an issue that affects each and every one of us,” said Jerry Bryant, the host of the rock show.  “When I started the marathon 27 years ago, there was no programming like it on TV.”

Groups appearing on this year’s rock music marathon include Papa Roach, Joywave, Bastille, Death Cab for Cutie, AWOLNATION, Meg Meyers, Saint Motel, and more.

The performances are accompanied by messages from Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White, road safety advocate Marti Belluschi, who is a victim of a drunk driving accident, and the bands themselves that focus on the deadly risks of texting behind the wheel, drunk driving, and other dangerous practices.
