July is National Disability Pride Month, and here are a few local events highlighting the cause:

Disability Expo

AccessChicago is the Midwest’s largest exposition of products, services, interactive sports, and recreational opportunities for people with disabilities. Sponsored by the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities, this free event is held at Navy Pier on July 17th from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.  More information is available on the City’s website and on Facebook.

Disability Pride Parade

The Family Health Network invites you to attend the Disability Pride Parade, a day to celebrate all Chicagoans with special needs and abilities. The Parade takes place July 19, 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., beginning at the intersection of Plymouth & Van Buren and ending at Daley Plaza. Questions? Call (312) 491-1956.
